"Thanks to 2nd Chance Indiana's Job Counselor, and it's Career Path Workshop, 85% of reentrants who took the Career Workshop are employed. THAT is an INCREDIBLE." - Julie Fidler, Program Director, Duval Work Release Facility

“INCREDIBLE !" "85% success rate coming out of 2nd Chance Indiana’s Career Path training, and its Job Counselor guidance to connect reentrants from Duval Work Release center with good jobs! Says Julie Fidler, head of Programing at Duvall Residential work release facility, said, “We’re running about 70% employment among those who have interacted with 2nd chance Indiana’s job counselor, Kendra Walker and/or taken 2CI’s Career Path Workshop. And, because of Kendra’s follow up, 85% of those who took the Career Workshop are employed. THAT is an INCREDIBLE."

Also, 2nd Chance Indiana met in the Indiana Women’s Prison with the Televerde Foundation people who train women in on-line professions. 2nd Chance Indiana is there to connect them to jobs after release.

Also information about gun violence in Indiana. Compare Indiana with other surrounding states: We don’t look so good. Illinois, with Chicago’s constant gun violence issues, registers 13.5 deaths per thousand. Then there’s Ohio, with numerous large cities and urban neighborhoods, it has 15 gun deaths per thousand so far. How is it that Indiana has a higher rate per thousand in Indiana at 18.3? What are we missing? Check out Nancy’s Blog post Here!

Lots going on!
