Reentry that Works!
Workforce Development's RESTART effort will reduce recidivism as 2nd Chance Indiana job coordinators connect young reentrants with employment and help with transportation that will allow them to get to and from work. Meanwhile, LITE will provide counseling. Hit the link below and read the many efforts underway at 2CIN!
In six of our northeastern counties, poverty is high, and the crime rate is as much as twice the Indiana average crime rate. Young reentrants between 18 and 24 need help to find jobs and connections to apprenticeships and the training necessary to build a future and a financial foundation for a good life. 2nd Chance Indiana is there to help!
The RESTART grant from the Department of Labor is making it possible for 2nd Chance Indiana to provide job counseling services to young reentrants, connecting them to second-chance employers, and to assess the impact of job preparation training, mentoring, counseling, and transportation to and from work, until they can afford their own reliable vehicle.
