Restart Grant, IndyGo Foundation, Letters from Hoosiers & More
2nd Chance Indiana has always focused on job preparation, and today, we need it more than ever. In six of our northeastern counties, poverty is high, and the crime rate is as much as twice the Indiana average crime rate. Young reentrants between 18 and 24 need help to find jobs and connections to apprenticeships and the training necessary to build a future and a financial foundation for a good life.
Through the RESTART Grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, 2nd Chance Indiana has been given the opportunity to enable Indiana reentrants to join a fast-growing and dynamic job market, made up of people trained in areas like advanced manufacturing, transportation, and information technology through our statewide employer network. We'll be working with around 180 young adults over the next three years and expect success for every one.
And check out the IndyGo Foundation grant that helps 2nd Chance Indiana get more people to and from employment opportunities.
Plus, read about the letters we get from Hoosiers who are incarcerated out of state and our work with people at the Recovery Cafe to provide transportation for Hancock County folks who are on their way to a sober and successful life.
