Transportation Poverty Studies, Lite Program Helps 65, 2CI Job Counselor Gives Hope, & More!
Headlines around the U.S. are awakening communities to the problem of Transportation Poverty, which includes up to 67% of reentrants who don't have access to a car or truck. Without it they won't be able to apply for jobs, or get there every day so they can keep the job.
In other news, 2nd Chance Indiana is proud to have hellped 65 riders who used our van transportation to and from work from transitional housing and the KosciuskoCounty Work Release facility to get to and from work as they build stability and self-reliance.
Job Counselor, Kendra Waler recently shared her background of lived experience with men who are soon to be released from Hamilton County incarceration, as she walked them through the services 2nd Chance Indiana can provide in both connection with good jobs, and help them with transportation if needed.
