In six of our northeastern counties, poverty is high, and the crime rate is as much as twice the Indiana average crime rate. Young reentrants between 18 and 24 need help to find jobs and connections to apprenticeships and the training necessary to build a future and a financial foundation for a good life. 2nd Chance Indiana is there to help!

The RESTART grant from the Department of Labor is making it possible for 2nd Chance Indiana to provide job counseling services to young reentrants, connecting them to second-chance employers, and to assess the impact of job preparation training, mentoring, counseling, and transportation to and from work, until they can afford their own reliable vehicle.

2nd Chance Indiana reentrant interactions in first 5 months of the year are now over 5,000. Vanpool transportation comes to southwest Indiana in Clark County, and Nancy's Blog shows how massive federal cuts due to fraudulent activity has cut non-profit grants that have many good caring non-profits begging for money.
